Carin Holroyd
Dr. Carin Holroyd is President of the Japan Studies Association and Associate Professor at the University of Saskatchewan. She has a long-standing interest in Japan-Canada commercial relations and the dynamics of international trade and investment, focusing on Japan and East Asia. Her recent work has emphasized the emergence of the innovation economy in Japan, including a study of the concept of green growth, or economic development tied to the development of environmental technologies.
Carin recently completed her latest book, Green Japan: Environmental Technologies, Innovation Policy, and the Pursuit of Green Growth (University of Toronto 2018). She is currently working on a comparative study of the digital content economy in East Asia as part of her ongoing work on the transformations associated with technological innovation.
