Ito Peng
Ito Peng is the the Director of the Centre for Global Social Policy and Professor of Sociology and Public Policy Department of Sociology, and School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Toronto. She teaches political sociology, comparative welfare states, and public policy, focusing on social policies in East Asia, Europe, and North America. Her published articles have appeared in Politics and Society, Social Politics, International Labor Review, Social Policy and Administration Journal, Journal of European Social Policy, Economy and Development, Journal of East Asian Studies, and others. She is the Principal Investigator of the international collaborative research project, Gender, Migration and the Work of Care, funded by SSHRC Partnership Grant, and the Director of Centre for Global Social Policy. Her research interests include: social policy reforms in Asian and European countries, gender, family, labour market, and demographic changes and their impacts on social policies and migration. Dr. Peng has been active in policy research with international organizations and has undertaken research for UNRISD, UNESCAP, UN Women, and the World Bank. She received her Ph.D. from London School of Economics.
