The Hon. Marco Mendicino was first elected as Member of Parliament for Eglinton-Lawrence in 2015; during his time, he served as Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, as well as Minister of Public Safety until 2023.  

As MP and proud resident of Eglinton-Lawrence, he has championed local investments in public transit, housing, and supported youth and community driven initiatives that are crucial to his riding.  

Before entering politics, MP. Mendicino served as a federal prosecutor for nearly a decade, fighting against organized crime, and bringing terrorists to justice. 

As the son of an immigrant family, MP. Mendicino knows and understands the hardships that affected himself, his family, and the communities. For this reason, he has extensive experience with community activism, including COSTI Immigrant Services, John Wanless Public School, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and more.
