Motria Savaryn-Roy
Motria currently serves as Director of Geopolitical Economics at Sun Life. In this role, she leads Sun Life’s internal advisory service on the interconnected areas of country risk, economics, and geopolitics in support of both operations and strategy taken on by senior leadership.
A specialist in country risk and economics, Motria is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working at the crossroads of international affairs, business, and government. Prior to her role at Sun Life, she managed a Centre of Expertise in Export Development Canada’s Economics group. Asia has been a particular area of focus of her work for close to a decade. She also has previous experience working as an economist at Global Affairs Canada where she had the opportunity to work on the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), as well as a specialist in the Office of the Chief Economist. Before working for the federal government, she worked for the Government of Alberta’s Department of Finance.
Motria holds master's degrees in international Affairs and economics from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa, respectively.
