The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada has been carefully monitoring and adapting to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) to protect staff and visitors while also maintaining our core business functions. Following recent announcements and recommendations by the federal and provincial governments, APF Canada made the decision today (March 16, 2020) to step up its COVID-19 Contingency Plan by implementing a work-from-home policy for all staff, effective immediately and until further notice.
Our offices in Vancouver and Toronto will be closed beginning March 17, 2020 until further notice. All APF Canada staff will be working remotely, and answering emails and phone calls as usual. All scheduled meetings at APF Canada’s offices are now suspended until circumstances change.
The global coronavirus pandemic is an extraordinary event. APF Canada is fully prepared to continue its important work as Canada’s catalyst for engagement with Asia, and Asia’s bridge to Canada during this difficult period for Canada, and for our friends and partners across Asia and around the world.
Our research analysts will continue to monitor the impacts of the pandemic in the Asia Pacific, and I encourage you to subscribe to our Asia Watch news intelligence service to stay abreast of breaking developments.
On behalf of the APF Canada Board of Directors and Executive Team, we extend our thoughts and best wishes to all of those impacted by this indiscriminate disease, and encourage our fellow Canadians to take steps to safeguard themselves and their loved ones during this difficult time.
