APF Canada is hosting a lunch with Eileen Mangubat, the 2013 Marshall McLuhan Fellow - Phlippines. Eileen is currently the publisher and acting editor in chief of Cebu Daily News. Her talk will focus on "Journalism in time of Haiyan: The evolving role of community press in covering natural disasters." The Marshall McLuhan Fellowship is the Embassy of Canada's flagship public diplomacy initiative in the Philippines. Launched in 1997, it is an advocacy to encourage responsible journalism in the Philippines with the belief that a strong media is essential to a strong democratic society.
