The Vancouver Maritime Museum is hosting an exhibit on the Komagata Maru incident from January 6 through January 8, 2014. The Komagata Maru was a ship that arrived in Vancouver from India in 1914. Of the 376 passengers onboard, only 24 were admitted to Canada. This was one of several incidents in the early 20th century involving exclusion laws designed to keep out immigrants of Asian origin.
