Alex Waworuntu

Alexander Waworuntu is an incoming PhD student at the Balsillie School of International Affairs. He has previously worked at Global Affairs Canada, supporting bilateral relations with Vietnam and international assistance towards Myanmar in response to the Rohingya Crisis and the 2021 coup d’etat. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University and is expected to receive a Master of Arts in Global Governance at the University of Waterloo's Balsillie School of International Affairs. His graduate research focuses on Pan-Asianism in international relations. Alexander was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and grew up in Markham, Ontario.
