Varun Srivatsan

Varun is a values-driven economics and finance professional with experience in government, consulting, impact investing, advertising, and microfinance. He works as an Advisor at Natural Resources Canada on the federal government's strategy and commitment to increase Indigenous economic participation and ownership in major projects. Varun’s approach is driven by his belief that Indigenous self-determination comes together with financial and fiscal independence. Varun’s previous roles include Indigenous economic development consulting at the Castlemain Group, and fiscal and economic policy analysis at the Parliamentary Budget Office, which involved strengthening parliamentary democracy by supporting the work of 443 parliamentarians. He received his Bachelor's in International Economics from the University of British Columbia.
