The Observer Research Foundation (ORF) is India's largest independent, non-profit, public policy think-tank set up with the objective of aiding and informing policies for a sustainable and strong India in a prosperous and equitable world. ORF's aim is to encourage voices from all quarters, geographies, and genders, including those that fall in and those that question dominant narratives. It is this plurality of thought and voice – in a country of more than one billion individuals – that ORF seeks to carry abroad, while simultaneously bringing contemporary global debates to India.
ORF pursues these goals by providing informed and varied perspectives, conducting in-depth research, and curating stimulating discussions. The research activities of ORF cover a wide range of disciplines, including strategic studies, economy and growth, technology and media, energy, climate change and sustainable development, and political economy.
