Yuri Yuko
Yuri Yuko is an artist, researcher, and activist, and currently serves as the CEO of Jidi Culture Publishing Co., Ltd., which collaborates with Indigenous communities to celebrate and share the cultural heritage of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples.
Yuri is currently pursuing a PhD in Ethnology at National Chengchi University, specializing in Truku history and culture, Indigenous culture translation, and Taiwan Indigenous health policy. In 2024, she was appointed Indigenous Business Representative for the Indigenous Peoples’ Economic and Trade Cooperation Arrangement (IPETCA) Partnership in Taiwan.
Yuri has been actively involved in various projects to assess the cultural heritage of major historical events, promote cultural research, and work with Indigenous communities to pass on and protect stories and traditions. As an accomplished songwriter, Yuri also celebrates Indigenous culture through her music, as on her album “Laqi Truku – Child of Truku.” She is also a published author, whose picture book related to Zhuang shaman culture was exhibited at an international conference in Rome.
