The Government of Canada is currently seeking applications from Canadians who are interested in Governor in Council appointment opportunities on the Board of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) for the position of Chairperson and up to four Directors.
The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is a not-for-profit organisation focused on Canada's relations with Asia. Its goals include:
- strengthening ties between Canada and Asia with a focus on expanding economic relations through trade, investment and innovation;
- promoting Canada’s expertise in offering solutions to Asia’s climate change, energy, food security and natural resource management challenges;
- building Asia skills and competencies among Canadians, including young Canadians;
- improving Canadians’ general understanding of Asia and its growing global influence.
These opportunities would be suitable for candidates with expertise concerning Canada-Asia relations in any sector or area. In addition, candidates should have leadership and decision-making experience in the business, government, non-profit, academic, international development or international organization spheres.
