Amid heightened diplomatic tensions between Canada and India — and against the backdrop of geopolitical and geo-economic shifts driven by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff and foreign policy moves — APF Canada remains committed to deepening connections and enhancing mutual understanding among key stakeholders in both countries.
In February, we partnered with the Ananta Centre, the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber, and the Council for Strategic and Defense Research in New Delhi, India, to host a series of strategic dialogues and events. A delegation of senior Canadian policy experts and thought leaders travelled to the Indian capital to engage in candid discussions, build trust, and explore potential areas for co-operation aligned with each country’s priorities.

Building on these efforts, in March, we welcomed Dr. C. Raja Mohan — India’s foremost scholar on geopolitics and foreign policy — as APF Canada’s inaugural Indo-Pacific Visiting Scholar to Canada. His visit included key engagements with business, academic, media, government, and policy leaders in Montreal, Toronto, Waterloo, and Ottawa, providing invaluable insights into India’s foreign policy, strategic positioning, and the Indo-Pacific region.
Additionally, our research papers, podcasts, media engagements, and events continue to explore the evolving landscape of Canada-India relations — shedding light on new opportunities for deepening economic and subnational co-operation and addressing significant challenges in the relationship.
