APF Canada Guidelines for Accepting Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Funding:
- The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) accepts funding for initiatives that are consistent with the Foundation’s non-partisan mission and work;
- APF Canada believes that it can best fulfill its mission through a broad base of support from various sources. However, to maintain independence and objectivity, the Foundation seeks to identify any areas where there may be real or apparent conflicts of interest, ethical risks, or where the mission, programs, activities and independence of APF Canada could be compromised;
- Funds generally could be accepted from individuals, partnerships, corporations, organizations, government agencies, or other entities without limitations – unless the specific source is inconsistent with the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada Act, Conditional Grant Agreement, non-partisan values and mission, and/or poses a conflict of interest or an ethical risk to the organization;
- When funding with terms, conditions, and/or restrictions are accepted, it will be honoured in accordance with the agreement for the provision of funding; and,
- In-kind contributions (non-cash) will be reviewed and accepted on a case-by-case basis, adhering to APF Canada’s guidelines.
APF Canada Guidelines for Distributing Sponsorship Funding:
- The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) distributes sponsorship funding for initiatives and partnerships that are consistent with the Foundation’s non-partisan mission and work;
- An internal committee at APF Canada reviews funding requests on a case-by-case basis. Funding distributions are dependent on factors such as the Foundation’s current priorities and budget considerations;
- To maintain independence and objectivity, the Foundation seeks to identify any areas where there may be real or apparent conflicts of interest, ethical risks, or where the mission, programs, activities, and independence of APF Canada could be compromised; and,
- Funds generally could be distributed to individuals, partnerships, non-profit and charitable organizations, or other entities – without limitations – unless the specific source is inconsistent with the Asia-Pacific Foundation of Canada Act, Conditional Grant Agreement, non-partisan values and mission, and/or poses a conflict of interest or an ethical risk to the organization.
