Project Launch: Mapping the Asia Pacific's COVID-19 Response

webinar

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada is pleased to share the project launch webinar for our new Mapping the Asia Pacific's COVID-19 Response storymap project.

This project represents our cumulative effort to tell the Asia Pacific ‘story’ around COVID-19 containment and mitigation, and is presented as a data-rich, geo-enabled, and interactive storymap tracking developments in 56 Asia Pacific jurisdictions around COVID-19, with a specific focus on these states’ policy responses.

Moderated by APF Canada's Vice-President, Research, Dr. Jeff Reeves, the webinar was recorded on July 8, 2020 and features presentations by: Sreyoshi Dey, Program Manager, Perspectives Asia (Movement Restrictions); Dongwoo Kim, Program Manager, Digital Asia (COVID-19 Mobile Apps); and, Pauline Stern, Program Manager, Business Asia (Canadian Direct Investment in the Asia Pacific).

The Mapping the Asia Pacific's COVID-19 Response project features propriety data and analysis on public health, digital innovation, mobility, trade and investment, and social dynamics, all with the intention of identifying policy 'best practices' in the Asia Pacific that can inform Canada’s domestic pandemic response. APF Canada has supplemented this project with data from our flagship Investment Monitor report and with publicly available data from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and various other sources.
