This report, the second in our Contemporary China: An Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada Research Series explores China’s health-care service sector. As health-care demands change and the system transititions, ongoing reforms of China's health-care service sector are being implemented to help equalize basic public health service, establish a primary health-care service system, and reform public hospitals.
This report recommends that Canada work collaboratively with China on the prevention and management of chronic diseases, with an emphasis on primary care and the development of advanced biomedical technologies.
