Loreto Leyton
Ms. Loreto Leyton has served as an officer for Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in several positions in Chile and abroad, including as first secretary at the mission of Chile to the United Nations, where she was in charge of social, humanitarian and cultural affairs. Between 2006 and 2007, she was a cabinet member for the secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza.
A graduate from the Chilean Diplomatic Academy, she worked as academic co-ordinator of that institution during 2011. She was also part of ProChile’s executive team (Chile’s export promotion agency) and, once in the private sector, worked for Corpgroup Interhold, a major financial holding. She is also a member of the advisory board at America Solidaria.
Loreto holds an BA in geography from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and an MBA from Argentina’s Universidad Austral. She has been the executive director of the Chile Pacific Foundation since 2016.
